Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

There is a lot of activity around the school at the moment, including Year 3-6 Swimming, the Year 3 & 4 excursion to the Big Bash game last Friday, SSV Cricket, and of course, welcoming our 2025 Foundation students on Friday. Thank you to Mel Woods for her organisation of many of these events and to the staff who ensure they are all successful.

These events mean that our children are getting tired and are a little less resilient. Please be aware of this and give them a rest day if needed. We still have 5 weeks to go, and we want everyone to finish with a positive and healthy mindset.

Our School Fete is getting very close, and our P&F is asking for donations to be sent to the school. If you can help with donated goods and/or time, please go to the Community News page of this newsletter for further details. Please note that all children are to be supervised by their parents/guardians at this event.

Grow in the Likeness of God Award.

This week's recipients are Noah and Ava.

Both students continue to show respect for others, use their manners, and act responsibly and maturely when dealing with difficult situations.   They display exceptional leadership skills and are valuable members of our school community.

Lowndes St Crossing Upgrade

During this disruption, students can enter and exit the school via the oval gate. We are grateful to the council for making this a safer crossing for our students.

Students coming and going from School

Morning Drop Off : 8:30 am is the time when school officially opens and teachers begin the morning yard duty. For the safety of your child/ren, we ask that students do not arrive at school before 8:30 am. Classroom doors open at 8:50 am.

Collection of Students during the day :  To ensure the safety of students and the flow of teaching and learning, parents are asked not to go to the classroom but to report to the School Office if collecting their child/ren early. The Office will contact the classrooms, and the teachers will arrange for the child/ren to present at the Office before going home.

Late Pick up :  School finishes at 3.20 pm, and duty teachers finish supervising children at the designated pick-up points by 3.40 pm, thus giving families an ample 20 minutes to do school pick-up. However, we do understand that problems sometimes arise, so if this occurs, please contact the Office, make other arrangements for the pickup of your child/ren or utilise After School Care.

YMCA School Care offers both BEFORE and AFTER school care.

We thank you in advance for your support in this matter.

Change in School Calendar (REPEAT)

In preparation for 2025 and Magnify Sandhurst, our Staff Professional Learning Day (Pupil Free Day) which was scheduled for Monday 4th November has now been rescheduled to Thursday 19th December. Students will now finish the 2024 school year on Wednesday 18th December at 3:20 pm.

Mobile Phones / Smart Watches (REPEAT)

Please refer to our Mobile Phone and Smart Watch policy. These devices are not to be used at school. If your child needs a device for safe passage to and from school, it must stay in the child's bag. This includes smartwatches, as they are a distraction to learning for the student and others. St Therese's takes no responsibility for the device if it is lost or damaged; the responsibility lies with the family.
