Italian Day

On Wednesday the 23rd of October, Preston Primary celebrated Italian Day with stile (style).

We were once again overwhelmed with the children and parents’ dedication to the creations worn on the day. There was so much creativita` and effort put in by all. We were saturated with verde, bianco e rosso. There were numerous pizze, Mario e Luigi, Leonardo Da Vinci, gelati, chefs, pasta, gondoliers, soccer players, Pinocchios, Venetian masks, Mona Lisa, Romans and even Juliette made an appearance. For the first time ever, some parents made it possible to have the Trevi Fountain come to Preston!

The day was fun-filled. One of the rotations on Italian Day was conducted by Bocce Federation Victoria. There were several instructors and a few different rotations which involved handling a bocce ball to learn bocce skills. The children had a ball! 🙂

Michelle came with her vespa to perform for the children. She took us on her journey around Roma, highlighting famous landmarks and teaching us some new vocabulary. It was a very interactive experience and students were loving being included in the performance.

As usual, the gelato was the highlight of the day. The students were treated to a rainbow of colours and flavours to enjoy, then paraded for their House Team, showcasing Italy and its culture with their costumes.

We hope you too enjoy experiencing this year’s Italian Day through the many photos taken on the day.

A Presto,
