Group 13 – Meals on Wheels Program

From the commencement of Term 4, students from Group 13 have continued their voluntary work with the Meals on Wheels program conducted within the City of Knox. 

Each week the students participate in their regular ‘run’, delivering meals to needy persons throughout the community.

This activity provides a great opportunity for our students to work on practical tasks and develop their reading and organisational skills in a real-life setting. They also develop their social skills to ensure they deliver the meals promptly and politely.

Many of our clients are ‘regulars’ who gratefully greet our students each week and greatly enjoy briefly interacting with them during the delivery process.  The work of our students has been very highly regarded, leading to their efforts being featured in a recent article in Knox News.
