BE THE LIGHT

On the 23nd of October, 7S went to the Jewish Museum of Australia, where we learnt how to “Be The Light”. 

We participated many different activities teaching us about Jewish history and religion. 

When we first got there, we were split into 3 groups and got to know our instructors, mine were Nate and Iris, two very entertaining people who knew a lot about the Jewish Religion. 

The 3 different parts of the excursion included; A timeline of when Jewish religion began, and many different artifacts and sculptures and paintings. 

The history of the 14 convicts who came to Australia, and how the Jewish population grew overtime, and 2 famous Jewish people, John Monash, and Ian Synman. 

And lastly we went through a Synagogue and learnt about the Torah, the Jewish scroll that is also known as the Hebrew bible, weighing a massive 35kg.
