From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,
We are moving through the term and looking ahead to Spring in a few weeks. On Monday night I attended the Boys' Program where we had illustrator Ben Saunders engaged the boys in how he became an author and illustrator and how he goes about this. This program is a great feature of our school and provides access to some great local and talented people in our community.
We also had our Grade 5-6 students who were selected in the basketball team compete on Friday in the Ballarat schools division and certainly enjoyed the experience. A big thank you to Mrs O’Brien and Mr Storey for preparing them for this experience.
In three weeks our Grade 5 students travel to Halls Gap for 2 nights for their Grade 5 camp and following this will be our Grade 4 Camp to Anglesea.
National day against bullying and violence
On Friday 15th August we will be running a program recognising the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. This day is a lead up to the messaging we have been promoting around the school in classes and at assemblies.
Stranger Danger
At assembly I mentioned to our students the importance of not talking to strangers if they are walking home from school. I used this caption to reinforce this message. It is important to have this discussion with your child and identifying some key places they might go to if they do feel uneasy about someone.
- Back to the school
- A friend’s house or family members house nearby
Pie Drive
A big thank you to the volunteers from our Parents & Friends who led the Pie Drive in the school. This fundraiser sold over $8500 worth of pies and made just over $2500 for the school. These funds will be directed to improve facilities for our students. A massive thank you to Bake & Grind for providing the school with this fundraising opportunity.
Father’s Day or Special Person Breakfast
On Friday 5th September will be holding our Father's Day breakfast. This is a revised initiative that we trialled with our Mother’s Day breakfast for the first time since then. The difference in that time is that our school has grown and we require people who wish to attend this event to be organised and get their orders in early.

WHO CAN ATTEND: FATHERS AND SPECIAL CARERS AND CHILDREN OF THOSE ATTENDING
