What's Happening around Our School?
We are excited to be celebrating Book Week at our school. Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the joy of reading and the importance of stories in our children’s lives. This year’s theme is Book an Adventure, which encourages students to explore their imagination, discover new worlds, and share the gift of reading together.
Throughout the week, students will enjoy a range of activities, including buddy reading across year levels, classroom projects based on the shortlisted books, and our much-anticipated Book Week Parade, including staff participation.
Date: Friday, 22nd August
Time: 9:10 am
Venue: Lower Basketball Court
Finally, to conclude our Book Week celebrations, we will have a live in-school performance, titled Treasure Hunt, on Monday, the 25th of August. These experiences aim to spark creativity, foster a love of literature, and remind us that reading is both fun and powerful.
We invite you to join us in celebrating by encouraging your child to read at home, talk about their favourite stories, and participate in our school events. Together, we can nurture a lifelong love of books in every child.
This week your child will be bringing home a special set of books to treasure and keep forever.
We encourage you to enjoy them together- reading anytime, anywhere, and sharing favourite stories and characters.
When they’re ready for something new, they’re welcome to swap a book with a friend.
Let’s kick start a love for reading and make great reading habits that last a lifetime.
Get ready to read, swap, and explore!

Our Year 3/4 students were very fortunate to be invited by our local Kanooka friends to visit them and continue Book Week celebrations by sharing stories together. This was a wonderful way to strengthen our Kinder connections and build friendships through stories. Later this term, the students look forward to welcoming Kanooka to our school to enjoy the fabulous art show!
Wally went on an adventure around the school grounds this week.
He was found in 20 different locations by students during their playtime.
What a fun way to spend play out in the sun!
Thank you to this group of senior girls for helping set up the activity what great leadership!
