If you were on campus this Thursday, you might have done a double take. Was that a group of new staff members striding through the hallways with confidence and poise? No – it was our incredible Year 12 students, stepping into their future selves for Future Ready Day!
As part of the Year 12 Personal Best Program, students took part in a professional development experience designed to prepare them for life beyond school. Arriving in smart, interview-ready attire, they looked every bit the young professionals they are becoming – polished, sophisticated, and ready to take on the world. From tailored jackets and stylish dresses to neatly styled hair and confident smiles, the cohort set a new standard for presentation.
Emma Velthuis from the College Marketing Team captured this moment in time, taking professional headshots for each student’s LinkedIn profile – a milestone in their career readiness journey. Students also worked on crafting their CVs, refining interview skills, and building their online professional presence, learning how to connect, network, and showcase their skills for future employers, universities, and industry professionals.
It wasn’t just about looking the part – it was about being the part. Our Year 12s carried themselves with integrity, maturity, and a sense of purpose that had many convinced they were already working professionals.
Thursday offered a powerful glimpse into the bright futures that await them – a celebration of the confident, capable young women they have become.
Next week, we will welcome a panel of 2024 alumnae who will share their wisdom and experiences since departing the gates of MtA. This will be a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable insights and a deeper understanding of the transition from school to future pathways.
