Snowsports Report

Downhill Day 4
What a day! We were spoiled with a picture-perfect bluebird sky for the fourth session of the Downhill Snowsports Program, and the energy on the mountain was fantastic.
I swapped my on-call role with Ms Farrington and was lucky enough to ski with her group: Abbie, Annabelle, Jayla, Marley-May, Shelby and Winter. The girls took me down an unnamed trail that felt like a steeper version of the familiar Fox Trail. It was a wild ride down Quartz Ridge with side-slips, rollers, and weaving through the snow gums. It was honestly one of the most fun runs I’ve done this season!
Later in the day we joined Quinny from Falls Creek Snowsports School for a lesson focused on using pole plants to tackle moguls. We worked our way through the Knolls and the Slot before skiing Grand Couer all the way down to the base of the International Poma. The snow was a bit thinner and icier in the shaded sections lower on The Summit, but that only added to the challenge.
What impressed me most was seeing our intermediate group confidently skiing some of the steepest terrain on the mountain, their progress from last year has been incredible to watch.
The final day of our Downhill Snowsports Program is next Wednesday, 27 August. Fingers crossed the mountain puts on another bluebird day for us to finish on a high!
Cross Country Program
Students have been enjoying their time on the trails on Tuesday afternoons. They have been split up into a skating group and a developing foundational skills group. Pictured here are some photos of students who have been skating each week.
