Assistant Principal's Report

Mitch Harris

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Respect, kindness and confidence are the values of the school, and these have been woven into lessons for students throughout the year. It is pleasing to see students being acknowledged through positive chronicles which are available to view on Compass.

An important part of the school process is providing opportunities for students to be re-taught behaviours. Staff may seek support from parents in discussing behaviours that are disruptive or concerning. This relationship is powerful in ensuring that students can maximise learning opportunities in both academic and social spaces around the school.

Mobile Phones and Earbuds

A reminder to students that the school has a no phone and earbud policy. This is imperative for maintaining a learning environment that is conducive to good learning routines. If students are caught using phones or earbuds (without explicit permission from the teacher) the item will be collected and the teacher/education support will follow our stage of response which will include communication with the family. The key to promoting a positive environment is awareness, early intervention and consistent and clear support. We thank parents/guardians for reinforcing this message at home.

Student Engagement Leader

We would like to thank Ms Vicky Levesque for her contributions in the role of Year 7 and 8 Student Engagement Leader. Ms Levesque isn't continuing in this position, and in the interim, Mr Mitch Harris will serve as the point of contact for students, staff, and parents.

Recruitment for this role is currently underway, and we will share updates with families once the process is finalised.

For any discussions or requests regarding Student Support Group (SSG) meetings, please contact Mitch Harris via the front office.
