Volunteering provides an opportunity to give back to our community. It can help to give a sense of purpose and belonging, build connections and improve mental and physical health. Volunteering also looks great on your resumé as a young person and many universities look at volunteering favourably in applications for residential positions and for scholarships and grants.
This week, our Year 9 students volunteered to help with the Hoppet set up, as part of their Future Makers program. The students stopped at The Outdoor School - Bogong to collect the necessary gear, before heading up to Windy Corner and the Nordic bowl for set up activities.
We also had our VCE VM and VPC students volunteer their time on Wednesday to complete some tree planting with Landcare in the Pebble Beach area. This type of activity also supports their course requirements.
Well done to these students for giving up their time which helped to address these local needs.
Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey (PCGOS)
This annual Department survey is open again for all families to provide their feedback. The survey will be open until Friday 19th September. While the survey is optional, I strongly encourage one member from all families to participate, so all families are represented. The online survey takes about 20 minutes to complete and can be completed on a range of devices. It collects family perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.
Families will be emailed a survey link with more information today.
On Wednesday 27th August, the School Council are inviting our school community to attend this general meeting, to present the 2025 Annual Report. The meeting will be held in the Library, starting at 6pm. We hope to see you all there!
Thanks to those people that have completed this survey. The responses have been helpful and are being used to add to our Pre-Review Self Evaluation report to help us prepare for the Review in Term 4. The survey closes today.
