The OH&S Committee meets twice per term. The composition includes the elected HSR and Deputy HSR, representatives from each sub-school, a rep from Admin/Therapy, the Principal, Assistant Principals and the OH&S Manager Nominee.

Purpose of Mandatory Workplace Inspections

  • Quarterly inspections (once per term) are required in all Victorian government schools.
  • Purpose is to identify and manage hazards proactively.
  • Helps reduce the risk of incidents and injuries.
  • Aligns with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic).
  • Ensures principals, staff, and the Department share responsibility for a safe workplace.
  • Encourages collaboration between principals, staff, and Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs).
  • Supports open communication and joint action on inspection outcomes.
  • Enables continuous improvement across the school system.
