Spotlight on Learning Echidna

In English, Echidna 1 and 2 have been learning how to create informative texts by describing the appearance of living things. This has linked beautifully with our Science learning about animals and plants, giving students plenty of opportunities to use their growing knowledge in meaningful ways.

Through observing, discussing and exploring a variety of living things, students have been learning to write simple factual sentences using sentence starters such as "It is..." and "It has...". They have enjoyed using descriptive vocabulary to share what they notice about different animals and plants.

It has been fantastic to see students confidently combine their Science knowledge with their writing skills, while also learning the important difference between factual information and imaginative stories. Ms Hassall, Miss Lucas and Ms Song are so proud of the enthusiasm and curiosity Echidna 1 and 2 have shown throughout this learning journey!
