Mr Michael Day Stage 2 & 3
Over the last few weeks, we have held the Stage 2 and Stage 3 finals for the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition. This competition encourages students to explore ideas of multiculturalism in Australia while they practice their public speaking skills and improve their confidence. We congratulate all our students across Stage 2 and Stage 3 who participated in this competition and made it to the next round of the school finals. Only two students could be chosen to proceed to the next round and we would like to congratulate the following students on their successful speeches:
Stage 2 winner: Arbabh M, Eucalyptus 1.
Stage 3 winner: Mason C, Solar 2.

The next round of finals will be held at Lindfield East Public School in late June, where Arbabh and Mason will compete against other students from local public schools. We wish Arbabh and Mason all the best!

Please note:

Parents and carers can submit absence explanations and notifications through the School Bytes Parent Portal. Students arriving late, leaving early, or returning from an appointment during the day must be signed in or out at the student counter by an authorised adult.
Planned Absence: If you know about an upcoming appointment or commitment in advance, please submit a Planned Absence via the Parent Portal → Attendance → Planned Absence. This helps us anticipate changes to your child's schedule.
Absence: To notify the school of an absence on the day, please submit this as an absence in the Parent Portal. This is also where you can respond to absence notification emails requesting an explanation. (Note: Planned Absences can only be submitted prior to the date.)
Unexplained Absence: An absence is marked as unexplained when a student is absent for part or all of a day without a cleared explanation in School Bytes, or when a student arrives late without an authorised adult signing them in at the student counter. Even if a Planned Absence has been submitted and cleared, an authorised adult must still sign the student in on arrival for duty of care purposes.
Authorised Adult Requirement: A student may not leave school early or be sent home from sick bay without an authorised adult collecting them and signing out at the student counter.
Absence Notifications: An automated absence notification is sent daily at 10:30 am via email. Please respond through the Parent Portal link provided, or log in directly via the website or app. Absences must be explained within 7 days, after which they will be recorded as Unjustified — Unexplained. A weekly reminder will be sent for any absences that remain unresolved from the previous week.
Thank you for supporting your child's attendance. If you need assistance, please contact your child's teacher or the school office.

This Term we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported. Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/yVMnz8NZI9d2u1h2YMo6Pw2
Further information about the NPSS Parent Survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss.
