How happy are the poor in spirit
Today’s Gospel, Jesus shares the Beatitudes, a collection of teachings that show us how to live as God's people. Jesus reminds us that those who are humble, kind, merciful, peacemakers, and faithful to God are truly blessed. He teaches that happiness and holiness are not found in power or possessions, but in caring for others, seeking justice, showing compassion, and trusting in God.
The Beatitudes challenge us to live with love and respect for all people. As members of the St Liborius community, we are encouraged to follow Jesus' example by showing kindness, helping those in need, making peace, and treating others with dignity. Through these actions, we help build God's Kingdom here in our school and wider community.
REFLECTION PRAYER
Loving God,
We thank You for the teachings of Jesus and the blessings found in the Beatitudes.
Help us to be kind and gentle in our words and actions.
Teach us to be peacemakers who bring hope and understanding to others.
Give us hearts that are merciful, caring, and willing to help those in need.
May we always seek what is right, stand up for others with courage, and show compassion to everyone we meet.
As a St Liborius community, guide us to follow the example of Jesus each day,
so that through our actions we may help build Your Kingdom of love,
peace, and justice.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA STATUE
Our Lady of Fatima refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary appearing to three young shepherd children in Fátima in 1917. The three children were Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto.
The children said that Mary appeared to them six times between May and October and shared messages about praying the Rosary, turning back to God, making sacrifices for peace, and showing kindness and love to others.
Mary asked people to pray for peace in the world, especially because World War I was happening at the time.
One famous part of the story is called the “Miracle of the Sun,” which many people witnessed on October 13, 1917. Crowds reported seeing the sun appear to move and shine in unusual ways.

19th June – Foundation and Year 5 Buddy Mass. Followed by morning tea in the MacKillop room for Foundation Students and families.
TERM 2 STUDENT AWARDS
At St Liborius, we celebrate students who demonstrate the characteristics of our founders. These awards are not just about what students do, but also about who they are and how they treat others.
We are guided by our founders: Catherine McAuley, Mary MacKillop, and St Francis of Assisi, along with Henry Backhaus who helped build our local Catholic community. They showed kindness, courage, and care for others, and we try to follow their example every day at school.
