Dear families and friends of St Liborius,
Welcome to Week 8! I hope that you are all staying well and warm as winter has truly arrived.
CESL SAFEGUARDING AND WELLBEING PROFESSIONAL LEARNING DAY
On Friday, our staff participated in a dedicated Safeguarding and Wellbeing pupil-free day, strengthening our ongoing commitment to ensuring every child feels safe, supported and able to flourish at school.
A key feature of the day was the introduction of the CESL Wellbeing Framework, which will guide our whole-school approach moving forward. This framework places wellbeing at the heart of learning and recognises that, for students to thrive, they must experience a strong sense of safety, belonging, connection and purpose.
Staff explored the key elements of the framework, including:
- The importance of belonging and inclusion, ensuring every child feels seen, valued and respected for who they are
- Building positive, respectful relationships as the foundation for student growth and wellbeing
- Supporting students through a holistic approach, nurturing their social, emotional, physical, spiritual and academic development
- Empowering student voice through engagement and participation, helping young people develop confidence and resilience
- Strengthening partnerships with families and the wider community to support each child’s wellbeing
The framework is underpinned by a clear commitment to creating environments where every student feels safe, heard and valued, and where positive behaviour and respectful relationships are explicitly taught and modelled.
This important work ensures a shared language and a consistent, whole-school approach to safeguarding and wellbeing. It supports us in continuing to build a school culture where every child can learn with confidence, develop strong relationships, and experience a genuine sense of safety and belonging.

SCHOOL ADVISORY COUNCIL - EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from parents and community members to join our School Advisory Council.
The Council supports the strategic direction of the school, working in partnership with the Principal to provide advice on school improvement, community engagement, and stewardship of resources in line with our mission and values.
This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to our school community, with meetings held once per term.

Final appointments will be determined by our CESL School Improvement Leader.
SACRAMENT OF FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
We’re also excited to share that a number of our students will be receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Eucharist this coming weekend. One group will celebrate at the Saturday evening Mass at 6:00pm, and another at the 10:30am Mass on Sunday.
This is a very special milestone in their faith journey. We keep these students and their families in our thoughts and prayers as they prepare, and we wish them every blessing as they take this important step in faith.
OUR NEW SCHOOL WEBSITE - COMING SOON!
We’re excited to share that our brand‑new school website will be launching before the end of the term! Designed to be a more user‑friendly and welcoming digital face of our school, the new site will make it easier for families to find the information they need. Features will include quick links for parents, simpler access to newsletters, and a school calendar that can sync directly to your own devices – how exciting! We can’t wait to share the launch with you and look forward to welcoming families to our new online home.
