YEAR 12 NEWS

It has been an incredibly busy 3 weeks since our last edition. Some important updates for Year 12 :
1. Congratulations Year 12
A huge congratulations to all our Year 12 students on completing their second-last Assessment Block. This is a significant milestone in your HSC journey and reflects the hard work, dedication, and perseverance you have shown throughout the year.
It has been wonderful to see so many students meet deadlines, submit their tasks, and continue to push themselves academically. Each completed assessment is another step closer to the finish line.
To our families — thank you for your continued support. The weeks ahead are incredibly important as students now shift their focus toward revision and preparation for the Trial HSC examinations. Your encouragement at home will make a real difference.
Year 12, be proud of how far you have come. Stay focused, stay organised, and remember — the effort you put in now will set the foundation for your success later this year.
2. Trial HSC Examinations
The Trial HSC examination period is fast approaching.
All students have been issued with their exam timetable during our Year 12 meeting, with spare copies available from the Front Office.
It is vital that students are aware of:
- When their exams are scheduled
- Where their exams will take place
- What equipment they are permitted to bring
Students must arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of each examination in full school uniform. All permitted equipment must be organised in a clear plastic sleeve, in line with HSC examination procedures.
The Trial HSC is an important opportunity for students to experience what the actual HSC examination period will feel like — the structure, the pressure, and the expectations. It is the best preparation students can have before the final exams.
I strongly encourage every student to approach these exams with seriousness and determination. Make a genuine attempt at every question, manage your time wisely, and use this as an opportunity to identify your strengths and areas for improvement.
Remember: effort matters. Growth happens when you challenge yourself. Back yourself, stay calm, and trust in the preparation you have done.
3. HSC Confirmation of Entries
All Year 12 students are reminded to log into Students Online and check their HSC Confirmation of Entries carefully.
Please ensure that:
- Your personal details (including name spelling, address, and phone number) are correct
- The courses and examinations you are entered for are accurate
- This is an important step in ensuring there are no issues later in the year. Please see me if you notice any errors.
4. HSC Minimum Standards
A reminder to all Year 12 students regarding the HSC Minimum Standards.
To receive the HSC, students must successfully pass all three minimum standard assessments in:
- Reading
- Writing
- Numeracy
There is a range of support material available on the Year 12 Google Classroom to help students prepare. The next testing window will take place on Monday 22 June (next week). It is important that all students are present and prepared. Completing these minimum standards is an essential part of achieving the HSC, so please take this opportunity seriously.
5. Multicultural Day
A sincere thank you to Angela, Anjani, and the students in the SRC for their hard work and organisation in preparing for Multicultural Day.
Events like these are an important reminder of the diversity, strength, and richness of our school community. It is always wonderful to see students come together to celebrate culture, identity, and inclusion.
Thank you for the time and effort you have invested to make this day possible.
6. A Personal Goodbye
As this will be my final newsletter submission before I move on to another school, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.
My time at Wyndham has been short, but it has been incredibly meaningful and memorable. I have genuinely loved being part of this community — working with our students, supporting their growth, and celebrating their achievements.
Wyndham is a special place because of its people. The students here have impressed me with their resilience, humour, and potential, and it has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated and passionate staff.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Kristine, Ann-Maree, and Suzy for their leadership, guidance, and unwavering support during my time as Deputy Principal. Your trust and encouragement have meant a great deal to me.
To the wider school community — thank you for making me feel welcome and for allowing me to be part of your journey. I will leave with many fond memories and deep appreciation for my time here.
I wish all students, staff, and families every success for the future.
Manvir Singh - Deputy Principal (Rel)
