ARACY Children's Wellbeing Wheel
Understanding the ARACY Children's Wellbeing Wheel
The ARACY Children's Wellbeing Wheel highlights the key areas that help children thrive and develop into healthy, happy, and capable individuals. The wheel focuses on six important domains of wellbeing: being loved and safe, having material basics, being healthy, learning, participating, and having a positive sense of identity and culture. Together, these areas remind us that children's wellbeing is influenced by their relationships, experiences, opportunities, and environment.
Parents play an important role in supporting each area of the wheel through everyday actions such as providing a safe and supportive home, encouraging healthy habits, supporting learning, helping children build friendships, and celebrating their strengths and cultural identity. By working together, families and schools can create the foundations children need to flourish both now and in the future.
Ways parents can support wellbeing at home:
Spend quality time talking and listening to your child each day.
Encourage healthy sleep, nutrition, and physical activity habits.
Celebrate effort, strengths, and achievements.
Support friendships and positive social interactions.
Encourage your child to participate in family, school, and community activities.
Help your child develop a strong sense of identity, belonging, and confidence.
