Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

EXCELLENT SCHOOL RESULTS

I had a very positive meeting with our Senior Education Improvement Leader from the Department last week.

Our results across the entire school for 2025 are very good and are on an Improvement trajectory.

In NAPLAN our growth was at or above Similar, Network and all Victorian schools in all areas.

CHRISTMAS EXTRAVAGANZA THURSDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2025 - 5:30PM

The final practices and preparations are being made by the students and staff for our fantastic Christmas Extravaganza next Thursday night.

Each year we have a huge turn-out of family and friends eager to watch their children perform and to enjoy dinner on the school oval with family and friends.

Don’t forget the monster raffle is drawn at the conclusion of the singing/ performing. If you haven’t already done so it is not too late to buy a ticket.

At this early stage Thursday looks like the pick of the weather and hopefully that doesn’t change.

The school is running a BBQ and drink stall so please visit us as all money at that stall goes directly to our school.

There are other local businesses/ food vans which offer a variety of delicious options.

We can’t wait to see you all there.

FOUNDATION FIREFIGHTER VISITS

Last term, our Foundation students learnt all about our local community and the people and places that make Warrnambool wonderful! Students explored different jobs and identified community helpers they might see when out and about.

This week, we were fortunate to have two visits from our local Warrnambool firefighters. They taught students about the difference between good fires and unsafe fires, how to “Get down low and go, go, go!”, and the important reasons we might call 000. Students also discussed fire safety at home with their families, including identifying a safe meeting place.

We were excited to tour the fire truck and see all of the special equipment firefighters use. Students were amazed by how many hoses could be stored in just one truck and how quickly firefighters can get dressed into their safety gear. Some students have even set themselves a challenge to see if they can get ready in 90 seconds at home!

The highlight of the visit was definitely getting to use the fire hose and discovering just how heavy the hoses are.

We are so grateful to our local firefighters for giving students this amazing and memorable experience.

EMERGENCY DRILL TUESDAY 25TH NOVEMBER 2025

We held our fourth and final Emergency Drill for the school year today with an off-site evacuation. The school assembled and walked safely to the Warrnambool Gardens.

GOVEMBER- TARGET CLOSE

We have completed our kilometres in order to reach our challenge target of 14, 000km.

This has been an excellent month of physical activity across our whole school and again we are very proud of everyone who has contributed.

Whether students and staff have chosen to run, walk, cycle, swim or paddle it has been a fantastic effort across the whole school.

Our final totals will be tallied and announced at Monday’s assembly.

WORKING BEE THANK YOU

A huge thank you to all the parents, carers, staff and students who rolled up their sleeves at our Working Bee on Saturday 22 November.

It was wonderful to see our school community come together with such energy and teamwork.

Throughout the morning, volunteers tackled a wide range of jobs — raking leaves, shovelling and spreading mulch, sweeping pathways, weeding garden beds, and removing old or damaged equipment.

The grounds are looking fantastic as a result of everyone’s combined efforts.

It was especially heart-warming to see so many students working alongside their parents, proudly contributing to improving their school environment.

Thank you again to everyone who gave up their time to support our school. Your hard work and community spirit make a real difference.
