Principal's Message

Dear Parents, 

WELCOME BACK TO THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR

What a great start we have had to 2026. It has been wonderful welcoming all of our students and families back to school, especially our new Kindergarten children and their families who are beginning their learning journey with us. We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and everyone is feeling refreshed for the exciting year ahead.

BE KIND

This week, all classes were introduced to our whole school theme book for the year, 'Be Kind' by Pat Zietlow Miller. This beautiful text will guide our shared language and actions throughout the year as we help students understand the power and impact of kindness. By weaving this books message into our daily routines, we are building a strong foundation for our students, one that shapes not only their behaviour, but their character. When we model kindness, name kindness, and notice kindness, it becomes part of who we are as a school community.

BEHAVIOUR POLICY

Classroom teachers also spent time this week setting up class rules and expectations and revisiting our whole school behaviour policy and expectations. Students were guided through our behaviour flow chart, which is displayed in every learning space, as a clear reminder of the standards we uphold to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all.

GOAL SETTING MEETINGS

We will be having parent/teacher student goal setting meetings in the coming weeks. The teachers are looking forward to meeting with you to discuss goals for your child for Semester One. More details will be sent out next week with regard to these meetings. Please return the 'Getting To Know You' forms that were sent home with the students this week.  

UNIFORM POLICY

In the general section of this Newsletter, you will find our updated uniform policy. We kindly ask all families to take note of these guidelines. All students should now be wearing the current school crest on every item of their school uniform, including hats, jackets and jumpers. The transition period that began when the new crest was introduced in 2022 has now concluded. We sincerely appreciate your support in helping maintain a consistent and proud school identity.

MOBILE PHONE & SMART WATCH POLICY

We ask families to review our mobile phone and smart watch policy, included in the general section of this Newsletter. This policy has been discussed with the students in Years 4 to 6 this week. A reminder that this policy needs to be signed and handed to the school office if your child will be bringing a smart watch or mobile phone to school. Your support with this is greatly appreciated, as these guidelines are in place to help keep our students safe and focused on learning.

It has been a fantastic first week back, filled with smiles, energy, and enthusiasm. We are looking forward to a year of learning, growth, and fun together.
