Making the most of our final fortnight

As we enter the final days of the school year, there is a sense of excitement and opportunity in the air. While it might be tempting to simply coast toward the holidays, I encourage every student—particularly our seniors—to seize this precious time and set themselves up for success in 2026.

Our Step Up program offers students an invaluable chance to get ahead academically. You'll receive an introduction to your 2026 class content, gain clarity on what work needs to be completed over the holidays, and be introduced to Toddle, our new Learning Management System. This isn't just about getting a glimpse of what's to come—it's about starting the new year with confidence, purpose, and momentum. For our senior students especially, these two weeks can make a significant difference in positioning yourselves well for the challenges and opportunities that 2026 will bring.

Alongside the wonderful learning happening in our classrooms, we have my favourite event of the year to look forward to the Christmas Service. This gathering provides us all with a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the year that has been. In the busyness of school life, such moments of collective gratitude and reflection are truly special.

The sporting calendar remains full and vibrant. Interhouse Show Jumping, cricket, tennis, netball, and rowing are all in full swing, giving students the chance to represent their school and houses with pride and determination. The annual Old Fashioned Sports always proves to be a wonderful morning of fun and friendly competition. And then, of course, there's the House Jelly Eating competition —my not-so-favourite event, but one that never fails to bring laughter and house spirit! The week will culminate with House lunches next Friday, a fitting way to farewell the school year together.

We have much to be grateful for as we approach the end of another school year. I encourage every student to make the most of these final two weeks. Engage fully with Step Up, participate wholeheartedly in our events and activities, and take the time to appreciate the community we've built together. Set yourselves up well for 2026, enjoy the end-of-year celebrations, and carry the spirit of gratitude with you into the holidays.
