Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
This year, our students have been engaging thoughtfully with the Respectful Relationships curriculum, exploring the themes of Stress Management, Help-Seeking, Gender Norms and Stereotypes, and Positive Gender Relations. Through a range of age-appropriate discussions and activities, students have been learning to recognise the signs of stress and practise simple strategies to manage challenging emotions. They have also been encouraged to identify trusted adults and peers they can approach for support, building confidence in help-seeking behaviours. Our classes have examined how gender norms and stereotypes can influence choices and interactions, and have reflected on ways to challenge unfair situations. Most importantly, students have been developing skills to foster positive, inclusive gender relations by showing respect, kindness, and empathy in their everyday interactions. We are proud of the thoughtful participation students have shown as they build these lifelong interpersonal skills.

We are approaching the exciting time of the term when we will announce our Whole School Reward. Please keep an eye out for this and the details to follow.
At the moment, we are on track for Level 1 – 'Bring Anything but a Bag Day.' Our staff and students are hopeful for a sticker blitz over the coming week, as we would love to reach Level 2, where we can 'Slime our Principal!'
The SRC will be holding a Downball Tournament later in this term as a fundraiser for our school. Today, the SRC clarified the scoring system, the rules, and the awards.
Entry will be by gold coin donation, and winners will be awarded for each cohort: Prep, 1/2's, 3/4's and 5/6.
Student are asked to register with their classroom teacher by giving a gold coin donation, and getting their name added to the list. The SRC will then organise rounds, to be advised once we have numbers.
In the meantime... get practicing!
