Maths Olympiad Results
This year, Our Lady Star of the Sea proudly participated in the APSMO Maths Olympiad and our talented young mathematicians once again rose to the challenge. The Maths Olympiad provides students with the opportunity to work through complex, non-routine problems while developing confidence, resilience, and a deep love of mathematical thinking.
A selected group of high-achieving students from Years 5 and 6 represented OLSS in this rigorous competition across four Olympiad rounds. Each test presented students with five challenging questions designed to stretch their problem-solving skills and encourage creative reasoning.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication shown by our team. Their hard work throughout the year has resulted in an outstanding team performance, with OLSS placing in the top 50% of schools nationally. This is a fantastic accomplishment for our students and we congratulate each of them for their determination and commitment to excellence.
