What's On In 5/6

Grade 5 leadership Program
This term, our Grade 5 students took part in a leadership program designed to build their confidence and prepare them for their roles as Grade 6 leaders next year. Throughout the program, students explored key leadership qualities such as communication, responsibility, and teamwork through a range of activities and challenges.
Some students then chose to apply these skills by preparing their 2025 leadership applications, while all students reflected on how they can be positive role models next year, regardless of whether they hold an official leadership position. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and enthusiasm they have shown as they get ready to step into their Grade 6 leadership journey.
“I really liked the leadership program because it helped to expand my leadership skills, and even if I don't acquire a leadership position, I can still be a role model next year, using these skills.” Aaron Z
“I liked that I learnt new leadership skills, I enjoyed the group work that we got to do with friends and it was really exciting applying for roles and finding out whether or not I got the role” Rose R
Classroom learning
Over the past couple of weeks, our Grade 5/6 students have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming WPS Travel Expo. In small groups, they have been researching a chosen country from Europe or North America, exploring key aspects such as culture, economy, and environment.
Parents and visitors attending the expo will also have the chance to vote for the country they would most like to visit. Students are excited to share their work at the Travel Expo next week, and we can’t wait for you to see the creativity and effort they have put into their projects!
