Over the last few weeks, we have been developing our ‘survival skills’ with a group challenge to create fire with a flint and steel, make a stand for a billy over the fire and boil water, make something to hold ‘berries’ and another to hold ‘meat’ and a shelter to hold the group. For the group to achieve success each individual needed to carry out their individual tasks, and it has been incredible to see the skill growth with last Thursday participants gaining success in their group challenge. 

Key learning for success included, creative and flexible thinking, having the mindset of ‘how can I make this work, not this doesn’t work’ and being aware of group needs while staying focused on achieving individual goals. 

These challenges are a lot of fun too!!!!!
