From the School Leadership Team

A Wonderful Term of Learning, Service and Community
As we conclude another busy and rewarding term, it is worth pausing to reflect on the many opportunities our students, staff and families have shared together over the past ten weeks.
Term 2 began with our moving ANZAC Day Service, where students reflected on the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation. It was a wonderful example of our students demonstrating respect, gratitude and an understanding of service beyond themselves.
Throughout the term, many students represented our school with pride in a range of sporting pursuits. Students participated in the SACSA Athletics Carnival, SACSA Cross Country and SACSA Soccer competitions, while others represented the school in golf. We are grateful for the commitment of staff, coaches and families who supported these opportunities and congratulate all students who competed with determination, sportsmanship and enthusiasm.
Our students have also enjoyed a range of enriching learning experiences. The National Simultaneous Storytime event brought students together through the joy of reading, while our Children's University visit encouraged curiosity and a love of lifelong learning. Students challenged themselves through participation in the Da Vinci Decathlon and our debating program, developing critical thinking, creativity and communication skills.
We have been delighted to welcome our mid year Foundation students for their transition visits this term. It has been wonderful to see them becoming familiar with our school and beginning to form relationships ahead of Term 3.
Students also enjoyed a range of engaging visits and excursions. Our Year 1 to Year 4 students thoroughly enjoyed attending Alice the Musical, while our Year 1 and 2 students participated in the Toyman experience and proudly shared their learning with families during their Celebration of Learning event.
Soccer clinics throughout the term provided another opportunity for students to develop skills, confidence and teamwork.
Our school community has once again been blessed by the dedication and generosity of our Parents and Friends Committee and Class Carers. Thank you to everyone involved in the Mother's Day Stall, the much-loved Light Up the Night event, and our Community Breakfast. These events strengthen the connections that make our school such a special place for students and families.
The term concluded in colourful fashion with our Colour Run and Glow Week celebrations. These events provided plenty of fun and laughter while reminding us of the joy that comes from learning and growing together as a community.
This term also marked the retirement of Mr Bischoff as one of our valued bus drivers. We sincerely thank him for his years of faithful service, care and commitment to our students and families. We wish him every blessing in retirement. At the same time, we warmly welcome Yogi to our staff team as our new bus driver alongside Rodney. We look forward to having Yogi as part of our school community.
Finally, earlier this term we shared the exciting news that the school has applied for a Federal Government grant to support the construction of a new Early Learning Centre on the oval. This project has the potential to significantly enhance our ability to serve families and support children in their early years of learning.
We now commit this opportunity prayerfully into God's hands, trusting His guidance and provision as we await the outcome.
Mrs Amy Hughes will be taking Long Service Leave on Fridays throughout Term 3. During this time, Mrs Samantha Ridley will be teaching the class each Friday.
Mrs Ridley is looking forward to working with the students and ensuring continuity in their learning.
Thank you to our students, staff, families, volunteers and wider community for your support throughout the term. Together we have celebrated learning, service, friendship, achievement and faith. We wish all families a safe and restful break and look forward to all that Term 3 will bring.
