K-Talks Success
On Thursday 18 June, we hosted the inaugural K-Talks Sport session and what a wonderful way to launch this exciting new series. We were privileged to welcome two current AFLW players, alongside our own Sports Administrator, Eliza, a former AFLW player, to share their experiences and insights with our students.
The panel spoke openly about their journeys to the AFLW, reflecting on the challenges, setbacks and opportunities they encountered along the way. Each woman shared a unique story, highlighting the different paths that can lead to success in elite sport. Their honesty, resilience and passion for the game made for a truly engaging and inspiring discussion.
It was fascinating to hear how their love of sport has shaped their lives and careers, and the session provided valuable lessons about perseverance, commitment and self-belief. The inaugural K-Talks Sport was a tremendous success, and we hope the stories shared by our guest speakers have encouraged our students to pursue their goals, embrace challenges and never give up on their dreams.

Commonwealth Games Trials
We were delighted to have three Kambala students compete at the Commonwealth Games Swimming Trials, an incredible achievement and opportunity to race against some of Australia's best swimmers.
Congratulations to Frankie Somerville, Giselle Tapfield and Kalia Finau, who proudly competed at this event. Giselle competed in the Backstroke and Freestyle events, achieving personal best times in both races. Frankie competed in the Freestyle events, while Kalia took to the pool in the Backstroke.
We are incredibly proud of all three students for earning the opportunity to compete at such a high level. We look forward to following their continued progress and are confident this is just the beginning of an exciting swimming journey.

CIS Golf Invitational
A huge congratulations to Miranda Chen (Year 6) and Cecilia Huang (Year 5), who were selected last week to compete in the prestigious CIS Golf Invitational at the Hunter Valley Golf Club.
Facing tough competition, both girls played exceptionally well and represented Kambala with outstanding sportsmanship and pride. We are incredibly proud of their dedication to the sport and can’t wait to see what they achieve next on the fairways. Well done, girls!

Basketball
Rounds 6 and 7 were an excellent finish to the basketball season, with our teams recording eight wins and a draw across the two weekends. Round 6 was highlighted by dominant performances from our senior teams, with Kambala 2 and Kambala 3 securing their biggest wins of the season. Having won every match throughout Term 2, Kambala 1 entered the final round needing one more win to secure a first-place finish.
Despite travelling to Pymble for their final match, they won by 10 points and produced another great performance to finish the season undefeated. It was also fantastic to see the display of support at Sydney University and Pymble, with players staying to cheer on other teams, reflecting the high level of care and school spirit present across the basketball program. We are excited to see the continued growth and development of our players in Term 3!

Soccer
After a challenging Round 6 for our Kambala soccer teams, it was fantastic to see the season finish on a positive note in Round 7. With Kambala 1, 2, and 3 all playing at E.S. Marks, there was a great display of support from players and their families, alongside other Kambala students, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the day. We recorded two hard-fought draws and one narrow loss, with all teams competing strongly until the end.
Kambala 4 competed against Pymble, and while they didn’t come away with the win, they showed such great sportsmanship and support for each other, as they have done throughout the entire season. We thank the girls and the parents for their commitment to the soccer program this season, and we look forward to more opportunities to develop and participate in Term 3!

Junior School Netball Wrap Up
What a fantastic Junior School netball season it has been! Throughout the term, the girls trained together at Moore Park, which has been a wonderful opportunity to build skills, confidence and team spirit across all year groups.
The improvement shown by every player over the season has been outstanding. Through their commitment at training and determination on game day, the girls have continued to develop their netball skills and understanding of the game.
This weekend saw plenty of wins across the teams, reflecting the hard work and dedication the girls have put in all term. Most importantly, there were smiles all around, with players enjoying their netball and supporting one another both on and off the court.
Congratulations to all of our Junior School Netballers on a successful season. We are incredibly proud of your effort, sportsmanship and enthusiasm throughout the term.

Junior School House Netball- Round Matches
On Friday 12 June, the Junior School House Netball Round Matches were held at the Moore Park courts, with our Year 6 students proudly representing their Houses in pursuit of a place in the final. The girls brought lots of energy and enthusiasm to the competition, demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination and netball skills throughout the afternoon.
All four Houses competed with great spirit, showcasing the talent and sportsmanship that make House events so special. After some closely contested matches, Gurney and Hawthorne secured their places in the Final, which will be played on Open Day later in Term 3.
Congratulations to all of the girls for their outstanding efforts and impressive display of House pride. We look forward to an exciting final between Gurney and Hawthorne later this year.

Year 3 Touch Football
Well done to our Year 3 students who recently completed their very first season of Touch Football! It was wonderful to see the girls' incredible enthusiasm each week, bringing so much energy to both training sessions and matches. This dedication paid off with week-on-week improvement, showcasing outstanding development in both their attacking and defensive skills. We cannot wait to watch their Touch Football journey continue at Kambala!

Junior School Hockey
A huge congratulations to our Junior School Hockey team for their stellar performance in the IPSHA competition. Under the expert guidance of Old Girl and coach Camilla Scott, the girls showed immense dedication and enthusiasm every week. Though small in number, they were mighty in spirit! Fantastic job on a wonderful season, girls, we are so proud of you.

Kambala Run Club Off to a Flying Start
Two weeks ago, we launched the Kambala Run Club, and it has already proven to be a wonderful success. Seven girls joined us for our first session and by the final session of the term, participation had more than doubled, with 16 girls lacing up their runners and getting involved. The girls have embraced the opportunity to challenge themselves, improve their fitness and enjoy being active with their peers in a fun and supportive environment. There has been plenty of encouragement and positive energy along the way. The girls have thoroughly enjoyed the Run Club and are already looking forward to continuing their running journey next term.

Podium Finish for Pippa D at Sydney Jumping Association!
A huge congratulations to Year 5 student Pippa D Sze for her fantastic performance at the recent Sydney Jumping Association event! Riding La Casita HDH (Izzy), Pippa placed 3rd out of 18 riders in a highly competitive 85cm class.
It is immensely rewarding to see her relentless work ethic, perseverance, and drive translate into such a phenomenal result on the competitive stage.
