Peter Combe Visit – A fantastic afternoon at APHS

Gallery Image

Our Year 9 Music students, along with students from Thiele Primary and Aberfoyle Hub Primary, recently enjoyed a special performance by Australian music legend Peter Combe.

The audience enthusiastically joined in, singing along to popular favourites such as "Mr Clicketty Cane" and "Newspaper Mama."

In addition to the performance, our Year 9 students had the valuable opportunity to participate in a Q&A session. They asked Peter about the process of songwriting, performing for young audiences, and his experiences within the music industry. This interaction provided unique insights and inspiration for our aspiring musicians.

DANCE

Huge Congratulations to our APHS Aerobics Team.

We are delighted to recognise the outstanding achievements of our Aerobics teams, who recently competed in their very first competition at the Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre. Taking on teams from both schools and clubs, our students demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork.

We are extremely proud to announce that both our Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary divisions placed first in their respective sections. As a result, every student was awarded a gold medal for their efforts. This is an exceptional accomplishment for their debut competition and a testament to their dedication.

A special thank you goes to Ms Donovan, our Dance Teacher, for her expert coaching and steadfast commitment during Wednesday lunchtime rehearsals. Her guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in the team’s success.

The APHS Aerobics Team will return to compete again in August. We look forward to sharing future updates and wish them continued success.

SALA Festival — Art Exhibition

Aberfoyle Park High School’s Art Club is proud to present a special exhibition as part of the South Australian Living Artists Festival at Onkaparinga Public Library, from 1 to 31 August.

The exhibition features Memory Project artworks created by our Year 7 to 11 students. These pieces are gifts for orphaned and disadvantaged girls from Afghanistan, now living in a home in Pakistan. Through the Memory Project, one young person has already gained the opportunity to pursue higher education, and we look forward to seeing more success stories in the future.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Memory Project, our dedicated Art Club students, and Onkaparinga Public Library for making this exhibition possible. Once the exhibition concludes, the artworks will be sent to the girls’ home, and we are eager to hear their responses.

We invite the community to visit the exhibition and be inspired by the creativity and compassion of our students.

World Photography Week 2026: Exploring "Home"

This year, World Photography Week runs from Wednesday, 12 August to Wednesday, 26 August 2026. The theme for 2026 is "home."

In line with this theme, students in our Photography classes have been exploring the concept of home in imaginative and thoughtful ways. Their work includes photographic studies of objects from their own homes, abstract images inspired by the idea of alien home planets, and nostalgic photographs reflecting childhood memories, all creatively edited and reworked.
