Learning & Innovation

Ms Melissa D'Amico

Assistant Principal (Learning and Innovation)

As we reach the end of Semester One, we reflect on a period filled with hard work, dedication, and incredible learning experiences across both our Primary and Secondary schools. Our students have truly excelled, demonstrating resilience and a passion for knowledge that is inspiring to us all.

This semester has been a testament to the hard work of our students. From our youngest learners in the primary school to our budding scholars in the secondary school, everyone has shown remarkable growth. We have witnessed students embrace challenges, collaborate with peers, and achieve personal bests. Their enthusiasm and commitment to their studies have been outstanding.

The breadth of learning this semester has been truly fantastic. Our curriculum has been enriched with hands-on activities that have brought subjects to life. In primary school, students have engaged in science experiments, creative arts projects, and interactive history lessons. These activities have not only made learning enjoyable but have also fostered critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

In secondary school, students have explored complex concepts through practical applications. Our science labs have been buzzing with experiments, the art rooms filled with creative expressions, and our sports fields alive with teamwork and determination. Excursions have also played a significant role, providing real-world experiences that enhance classroom learning. Visits to universities and local businesses have broadened our students' horizons and deepened their understanding of the world around them.

Our secondary students have made excellent use of ‘A Learner's Toolkit’ in their studies this semester. This resource has empowered them to develop effective study habits, time management skills, and strategies for independent learning. By utilising the toolkit, students have been able to set goals, track their progress, and take ownership of their learning journey. We are proud of how they have integrated these skills into their daily routines, laying a strong foundation for future academic success.

With the conclusion of the semester, end-of-semester reports will be distributed soon. For the first time, the College will release a Semester One Secondary Assessment Summary for all students in Year 7-11. End of semester reports are an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and areas for growth over the past months. We encourage all students to take the time to review their reports, celebrate their successes, and set new goals for the upcoming semester. Reflection is a powerful tool for learning, and setting clear objectives will help guide their efforts and aspirations.

As we head into the break, we wish all our families a restful and enjoyable holiday. This time is valuable for recharging and spending quality moments with loved ones. We hope you have the opportunity to relax and make wonderful memories.

We are excited about the learning and growth that lies ahead in the next semester. Together, we will continue to strive for success in learning and personal development. Our commitment to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment remains unwavering, and we look forward to partnering with you once again to achieve excellence.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school community. Enjoy the break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another fantastic semester.
