Wonderful 1/2

0ne(two)derful 1/2s

Term 2 Week 11 2024 -  Friday 28th June

What have we been up to?

We hope everyone is really excited for the mid-year holidays!

The students have had a fantastic couple of weeks. All the students have continued their work in Maths, Literacy groups, Reading and Writing.

The 1/2 students have continued learning about how to write an information text. Over the past two weeks we have reviewed the features of information texts and the sorts of things that make them different to the narratives we have been reading and listening to. Students have been developing their knowledge and understanding of how to create them and have been provided with the opportunity to create their own.

Since the completion of our mid-semester testing, students have dived back into Maths groups and are showing great enthusiasm. We have been working on Multiplication and Division. Everyone has learned lots with all the kids building their strategy toolkits and developing their understanding in this key area of the curriculum.

Little Learner’s Love Literacy (LLLL) groups have continued to run throughout the term and it has been fabulous to see the growth and development of students across the cohort. Several of the groups will look a little different next term due to students successfully moving through the levels and increasing their ability in this area.

1/2D has settled in well. Miss Jackson is loving her time in the 1/2 team and the students are really enjoying their new room and new classmates.

Have a fantastic holiday!

The 1/2s have been having fun with their Buddies every Monday Afternoon.
