Principal's Report

Eureka!

We are all looking forward to our musical ‘Eureka’ next Term! Eureka was originally written by Julie Pitts and Grant Puglia back in 2014. Julie and Tom Pitts have revamped and written many new songs for the 2024 production. Four performances of ‘Eureka’ will be staged at the Alexander Theatre at Monash University during the week beginning Monday 9th September. Our Year 5 and 6 students, who will all have a role in the musical, have their first full day of rehearsals tomorrow. Rehearsals for our Year 5 and 6 students will be held each Wednesday throughout Term 3. Two children from each Prep to Year 4 class have been selected to be part of the ensemble and will be involved in lunch time rehearsals and occasional rehearsals on Wednesdays in Term 3. I am sure ‘Eureka’ will be another incredible musical; one we will thoroughly enjoy being immersed in!

Emu Bobbers

As part of our school’s commitment to sustainability and the environment, each of our classes, over the last few weeks, have gone out into the local community to do an ‘Emu Bob’. The students, all wearing gloves, have been shocked by the amount of litter they collected in a relatively small area. It really prompted the children to think about where the litter normally goes to and the impact it has on our local area and the bay.

Student Vs Teachers Netball Match

This Friday at 12.00 some of our Year 6 students will put their skills to the test as they take on the staff at the Annual Student Vs Teachers Netball Match. The rest of the school will be there to cheer on the players from both teams. Parents are also most welcome to come along to watch this event!

Reports

Mid-year Student Reports will be available on Compass from 4.00pm tomorrow.

Lost Property

A big thank you to Sarah Pitts for the wonderful and onerous job she does trying to return lost property to their homes. Yesterday Sarah went through all the lost property on both campuses. Items without names will go to the next second-hand uniform sale and named items were returned to their owners. Below is a photo of a collection of unnamed drink bottles, lunch boxes and other items. If they are not collected by tomorrow, unfortunately they will need to be disposed of!

End of Term

A reminder to all families that school ends at 2.30pm this Friday, 28th June. Term 3 recommences on Monday 15th July.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable break from school life and safe travels if you are heading away.
