Allied Health Update

Music Therapy

Choir has returned for 2024! This year choir has moved to a different room and a different day of the week. Every Monday afternoon, students are invited to join us for a sing and dance, led by our music therapist Bingyao and Songroom teaching artist Roni. Choir is currently working on "How Far I'll Go" from Moana and "Koling Wada-Ngal" ("Let's Walk Together" in Wadawurrung). You might have heard our choir sing these songs at the recent Family Welcome Picnic and Harmony Day.

At the end of every choir session, we practice mindful breathing together to this video RELAX AND BREATHE: Do Nothing for 10 Minutes. It's been a beautiful way to bring the group together to share a moment of calmness at the end of the day. We encourage you to give it a try at home too!

Balloon Football and Soccer

The physiotherapists and occupational therapists have been running Balloon Football and Soccer sessions on Tuesday lunchtimes with support from our allied health assistants and education support staff. The students involved have had lots of fun practising hitting and kicking the balloon, and then playing matches to put their passing and scoring skills to the test!

Physiotherapy

The school physiotherapists love helping students to be active throughout the day! We enjoy supporting students with a range of physical activities at school, including physical education and sport sessions, bike riding, accessing playground equipment and using assistive technology (such as standing frames and walking frames). Students involved in the aquatic physiotherapy program have loved splashing, stretching and moving their bodies in the pool on Fridays.
