A Message From Our Assistant Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a busy term we have had with lots of excursions happening, our new student leadership team has been established, as well as some new members have joined the School Council. In addition we have been going through a School Review and working with the Victorian Registrations and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), a process all schools are required to complete every four years for school compliance. The school is seeking feedback and parent input into our next strategic plan for the next 4 years. If you are able to spend one or two minutes completing this quick survey for your feedback, it would be greatly appreciated. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JZFD5RY

A special thank you to our Fundraising Committee, in particular School Council President, Diana Duffy for helping coordinate the Easter raffle. This takes time and coordination and we greatly appreciate all your support. Also thank you to the Easter Bunny for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit Hamlyn Views School. Your visits always bring a smile to student faces.

As mentioned on Compass on Monday, we welcome Julie Brown as Acting Principal for Terms 2 and 3 to Hamlyn Views School. Julie comes from Barwon Valley School and is an experienced Assistant Principal there. We look forward to working with Julie next term. Please make her feel very welcome in the Hamlyn Views way. We also welcome a new Physiotherapist to the school next term, as Sarah Williams begins her maternity leave. Jem Pryse will be joining the allied health team, he will working Tuesdays and Fridays. Rebecca George will be joining Hamlyn Views next term teaching Mondays and Fridays in Junior Years Green and Wednesdays in Foundation Blue. Rebecca is a regular relief teacher at Hamlyn Views and we are excited for her to become a more permanent member of our school community.

Just a reminder if you are going on family holidays during school terms, please let the office staff know as we can create student absence learning plans (for absences over 3 days) to support your child’s learning.

Also a reminder about external therapists visiting the school. We do have lots of therapists hoping to visit, therefore we have a school protocol in place to support this coordination. If all visit requests could please be made via the office and Nat or Ali, our Allied Health Assistants, will organise the coordination of these visits.

I wish you all a safe and Happy Easter. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership with your children’s learning.

Have an eggcellent Easter!
