Mambourin Campus

It is exciting to share that our journey in establishing that the new GNLC Mambourin Campus is underway. We had the opportunity to meet onsite with developers this week to view where works will shortly commence. The excitement is certainly building, and our community will soon notice movement onsite as the construction phase begins. We will certainly keep you up to date as the build unfolds.

Year 1F Learning

As we begin to explore our ‘How We Express Ourselves’ unit, Year 1F students have

identified the many ways we communicate with others, with one of these being writing skills. This week, students explored letter formats as a written form of communication, identifying the features of a letter and then experimenting by writing a letter to somebody they knew. As a part of this process, each student reflected on their own writing to ensure that it had all the features of a letter, making any changes where necessary and sharing this process with others. They were certainly all proud of their final piece!

Year 1E Learning

It is exciting to see a culture of writing develop in 1E. Through their ‘How We Express Ourselves’ unit they are learning about how and why we communicate. 1E has been learning how to express ideas by adding interesting adjectives. They wrote adjectives about each other. This was such a personal way to think about describing words AND fill their classmates' buckets at the same time!

Year 2E Learning

Our 2E students have been exploring skills in literacy, numeracy, and core skills across the curriculum to plan, deliver and enjoy their own community event. The preparations for this event allowed the children to develop, practice and transfer skills for learning. They interviewed specialists in event planning, designed invitations, collected data, collaborated and solved problems. The children were leaders and guided the directions of this event, scaffolded and challenged by their teachers. The students took action led by ideas and learned they can apply and transfer key skills, they can work together by following through on an idea to achieve surprising things!
