Getting Involved in Your Child's Education

Parents play a central role in laying the foundations for the wellbeing of their children through their partnership with the school. One way of doing this is helping your child grow and develop their emotional, social and physical skills. This can be both exciting and sometimes challenging. The article attached explores some of the factors that make up wellbeing and how you can use simple strategies to ensure your child feels safe, secure and connected to others so that they are in the best possible position to learn and succeed. If you have any concerns about your child's wellbeing at school, your first point of contact is your child's classroom teacher.

Year 6 Canberra Camp

Year 6 students took a road trip to Canberra where they visited numerous important landmarks and institutions, including the High Court of Australia, Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy, Australian National Gallery, AIS – Australian Institute of Sport, the National Capital Exhibition, National Arboretum, Embassy Drive, and the National Electoral Education Centre. They also enjoyed the scenic views at Mount Ainslie, met Joanne Ryan (MP for the Lalor area), paid their respects at the Australian War Memorial, and explored science, technology and innovation at Questacon. Additionally, they visited Government House which had many highlights including seeing the Philippines President arrive (video below) and Tavleen playing their grand piano.

Overall, the students gained invaluable knowledge and experiences, formed lasting connections, and created unforgettable memories.

Primary Years Three-Way Conferences

Primary Years Three-way Conferences will be held on Wednesday 20 March and Tuesday 26 March 2024, on-campus in your child’s classroom. More information on times and bookings will be shared soon.

A Three-Way Conference is an opportunity for students, parents and teachers to share the student’s successes, as well as collaboratively discuss ways of supporting students in achieving their goals. The education of a student is a team effort, and everyone has an important role to play. It’s up to all three groups to ensure the best chance of success.

We look forward to meeting with all families to strengthen our connections between home and school during our three-way conferences.
