Teaching and Learning

Welcome to the 2025 learning year!
A huge welcome to a wonderful year of learning at Rangeview in 2025.
How quickly the first two weeks of Term 1 have moved.
We welcomed our Level 1-6 students back to school on Wednesday 29th January. Students were so excited to see their friends and start the year in their new classes.
On Thursday 30th January, our new Foundation students started their primary school education. The morning was so special with smiles on faces and 'Cheers and Tears' on the Library deck for parents.

Specialist Classes 2025

In 2025, our specialist teachers are:

- Mathematics - Mrs Vicki Tzimos, Mrs Samantha Carter and Mrs Rebecca Gordon

- Physical Education - Mr Mitch Clark and Ms Meg Hubbard
- Digital Technologies - Mr Steve Atkinson, Ms Hannah Ambrose and Mr Ryan Evans
All students will also visit our beautiful Library once a week to be immersed in the world of books to browsw and borrow.
Digital Technology Agreements
On Wednesday 29th January you would have received an email from Compass asking you to complete the following agreements for each child:
- Internet & Digital Technology Acceptable Use Agreement
- Student iPad Agreement
We ask that you read through these agreements in the Compass Event with your child / student, and ensure they understand them before answering the questions and providing consent.
All families must complete these permissions before students can use school technologies or bring their iPads (Level 2-6) to school.
We thank you for your support in helping set strong expectations for our student’s use of technologies at school and at home.
Mobile Phones
Students who choose to bring mobile phones to school must bring them to the school office each morning to be securely stored. Students can then collect them again, after the 3.30pm bell. This is Department of Education Policy.
Apple Smart Watches
Smart watches with WIFI ability cannot be worn to school, as per school policy.
The exception is, if f the Smart Watch has had Schooltime Mode activated between the hours of 9.00am and 3.30pm.
Schooltime blocks notifications and disables the use of all apps on your child's watch. When Schooltime is activated, the watch face has a yellow circle indicating access to apps is restricted and 'Do Not Disturb' is turned on.
Setting up Schooltime
- Open the Apple Watch app on the iPhone use to manage to watch.
- Tap 'My Watch', then tap a watch below Family Watches.
- Tap 'Done', the tap 'Schooltime'.
- Turn on Schooltime, then tap 'Edit Schedule'.
- Choose the days and times you want Schooltime to be activated.
The above instructions are for Apple brand smart watches. Please refer to your manufacturer instructions for other watch brands.
Rangeview Hats
Due to the high UV rating at this time of the year, it is a requirement that all students wear a Rangeview Primary School hat when outside. Currently we have a very large number of students coming to the office each day, requesting to borrow a hat. Could you kindly please check that your child has their hat at school each day.
Hats can be purchased at the school office for $18 or at PSW Uniform in Croydon.
School Uniform
It is important that all students are in school uniform and are adhering to our school uniform policy.
The wearing of a school uniform creates a sense of collective and individual pride in our school, as well as giving our students a sense of belonging. Equality is fostered by a uniform policy common to all students. At Rangeview Primary school, our school uniform policy supports students in the areas of equality, health and safety.
A reminder of some of the guidelines in the policy:
- Correct school uniform should be worn during school hours, travelling to and from school and on excursions and sports days.
- Jewellery must be kept to a minimum (stud / sleeper earrings and non-smart watches are acceptable).
- Extreme non-natural hair colours (e.g. pink, green, purple blue etc.) are not permitted.
- Cosmetics must not be worn at school. Clear nail polish only.
- Hats worn during the Sunsmart months must be the school uniform hat.
- Non school uniform items such as coats and scarves are not to be worn
If your child cannot be sent to school in uniform, please ensure you provide written communication, either via email or a written note.
