Accountability

Daily Organisation

Thank you for being attentive on our second Curriculum Day when we went over the way to complete Daily Organisation document.

Please note that your pay will not be processed if you have not completed all required columns:

  • A-J, M and N. O where pertinent.
  • Q if you know which Budget the CRT will be deducted from e.g. all SIT Leaders are aware of CRTs being booked for professional learning.

Do not indicate that leave has been approved. The PCO responsible for Daily Organisation will do that.

CPS Dress Code - p.6 Staff Handbook, Accountability

As educators, our role is

  • to demonstrate that we are professionals
  • that our clothing is modest in all ways. We are educating children and should mindful of children struggling with body image as this begins very early due to the influence of advertising and media.

So as to be incredibly clear:

  • no weekend or beach wear
  • no skimpy tops
  • denim: only smart jeans
  • only smart tshirts
  • no short shorts
  • no short skirts -- even with leggings
  • no cleavage
  • no sportsgear unless you are running around on the field. If you are refereeing - Platoon, ISS: normal professional dress only

If there is any confusion about the definitions of the above, please have a chat because I would rather that than you feeling uncomfortable :)

Please do not put me in the position where I need to ask you to amend your dress style.

This is the direct section from the Staff Handbook:

It is an expectation that all staff wear clothing that complies with a professional working environment.

Smart casual clothing that ensures modest cover is to be worn at school and school events. Clothing should not be revealing when bending over, or seated (crossing your legs) and therefore low cut dresses or short shorts, short skirts and short dresses are not appropriate.

Your attire should suit working with any year level as you may be called to support another year level.

Clothing should not be clothing that is worn on casual occasions e.g. beach, exercise or bbq wear. Staff should bemindful not to wear thongs, jeans with holes or skimpy tops. T-shirts should be smart and skirts and shorts should be at an appropriate length.

Sports gear should only be worn if actively participating in sports activities, not if umpiring or supervising.

Footwear should be appropriate to tasks and activities to be performed on the day - for example, if planning to take students on an outdoor activity, sturdy, stable and supportive footwear should be worn.

Students' School Dress Code

To improve an element of school pride, please focus on this at your class level. You could comment positively on the correct uniform, find out discretely via the parents if provision of free uniform would support the family etc.

Please ensure that you remind your class about:

  • school pride - wearing correct uniform - that it represents who we are
  • that hair longer than shoulder length is to be tied up because of the spread of nits -

this is non-negotiable - Zarah O'Dea is our only student of note with hair out. Talk to Jackie about the frequency of contagion!

Again, please do not make me the police person. Make school pride a focus helping build our school culture and keeping nits out of our life :).

PCO and Learning Specialists Walks

This Term, PCO and LS will take walks around the school and into classrooms to get to know students better and be familiar with all the effective learning and teaching being delivered.

As mentioned by Janet during one of our Curriculum Days last week, our goal as a staff is to implement our four-year School Strategic Plan's goals. Visiting classrooms is our opportunity to see the school and our Annual Implementation Plan goals, actions and strategies in action.

Please know that there is no need to stop what you are doing. We will come in, might sit in for a short while or ask some of the 4 questions to students when appropriate and then move on to another class.
