Year 7 to 10 Science Texts for 2025

Students are not required to purchase a textbook for Science in 2025. The school will be purchasing class sets at the end of 2025 to align with the new Science Curriculum to be implemented in 2026.

 

In the interim, we are requesting that students with current 7-10 Science Textbooks donate them to the college for use in 2025.  

Christmas Carols

Charlton College will be performing at Carols by Candlelight on Sunday 8th of December. Students will be performing the songs Christmas in Australia, Merry Christmas Everyone and Go Santa Go.

 

When: Sunday, 8th December

Where: Rex Theatre

When: Start time is 7:30

 

All children need to be at the Rex Theatre by 7:15pm.Students are to wear Charlton College uniform (blue t-shirt and shorts). Children may also wear Christmas hats or Reindeer antlers if they have them.

 

A note has been sent home with students today. If you could please fill in if your child will be attending and have it returned to school that would be greatly appreciated.

End of Year Assembly & Year 6 Graduation 

Our final assembly and Year 6 graduation will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 9:15am in the Gallery Space. 

 

We welcome you and your family to attend the event to celebrate the achievements of our students and say goodbye to the graduating class of 2024. 

Betty is Back

Exciting news! Betty the Elf has returned to the Primary Building just in time for the holiday season! She’s here to spread some festive cheer as we count down the days to Christmas. Keep your eyes peeled—Betty is known for her little surprises and festive mischief!

Book Review by Bailey K

Bailey recommended the Graphic Novel, Wings of Fire Book 6 - Moon Rising written by Tui T. Sutherland, the book takes place in the great hall of Jade Mountain, with main characters Moonwatcher, Prince Winter, Qilbli, Turtle & Darkstalker. Moonwatcher is sent to Jade Mountains academy where all dragon tribes go to learn and live with each each other. 

 

Moonwatcher has the secret ability to read minds and is able to communard with the enemy to all dragons. 

 

Bailey rates this book 5/5 stars and recommends it to year 3-6. 

 

Book Review by Lily L

Lily recommended the Adventure/Fantasy Book Tilda Teachers Cartwheels written by Amy Adeney with main characters Tilda, Binky & Harry. Tilda thinks she is a superstar swimmer but learns the she is is not the best swimmer and feels embarrassed. Tilda decides to make cartwheel club at lunchtime. She demonstrates hot to do a cartwheel to her class mates. Tilda likes giving her friends their student reports and thinks she is a very good cartwheel teacher.

 

Lily rates this book 4.5/5 stars and recommends it for year students year 2 and above.
