Ashley Stace
My name is Ashley Stace, known as Mr Stace to the students. I am usually a relaxed teacher who enjoys teaching Literacy, with a particular passion for teaching Reading. I focus strongly on reading because it was something that helped turn things around for me when I was younger, and I enjoy helping students experience that same success.
I have always taught in the Hume area and have spent most of my career working in specialist schools. This year I moved to Meadows Primary School. I have been teaching for over 15 years and strongly believe that students learn best when they experience success in their learning. Building confidence and helping students recognise their achievements is an important part of my teaching approach.
I have two children of my own. My daughter Lily is 13 and in Year 8, and my son Riley is 10 and in Grade 5. On weekends, I am often spending time with them and enjoying family activities.
Gaming: I enjoy gaming, particularly playing Rocket League.
Ten Pin Bowling: I bowl twice a week and have been bowling since I was 15.
Bike Riding: I started bike riding about 18 months ago and really enjoy it. I try to ride on the weekends and sometimes even ride to work.
TV: I enjoy watching TV and find it a great way to relax and unwind.
I completed my Bachelor of Education (Primary) at RMIT in 2009. Since graduating, I have spent over 15 years teaching across a range of settings, mainly within specialist schools in the Hume area.
