About me

Hi Everyone, my name is Jinyoung Lee.

Teaching philosophy :

I am a firm believer that the foundation of academic success is a supportive and welcoming environment where every student feels safe enough to take risks. I operate under the conviction that every student possesses the capacity to learn; it is simply my responsibility as an educator to find the right "key" to unlock their individual potential. By fostering a classroom culture built on empathy and mutual respect, I ensure that my students aren't just memorizing facts but are developing the confidence to explore their own curiosity.

A little about my life:

My world is happily centered around my two daughters, who are currently 11 and 8 years old, navigating their different ages and personalities keeps me constantly inspired and reminds me of the importance of patience and presence. I am a firm believer in the magic of traveling, as I love the excitement of discovering new horizons and the deep bonding that happens when you experience a different culture for the first time.

Equally important to me is the simple, profound joy of sharing a delicious meal with the people I care about most, as I believe food is a universal language that brings us all together. However, I also deeply value the art of doing nothing at home, finding that these peaceful moments of stillness are essential for recharging my spirit and appreciating the comfort of my own space.

Interests and hobbies :

Ice Skating: I have a deep passion for ice skating, as I find it to be a perfect blend of physical discipline and graceful movement that allows me to stay active and focused.

Drawing: I am also an avid fan of drawing, which serves as my Favorite creative outlet for decompressing and expressing my imagination through visual art.

Fun facts :

Family Heritage and History: I am ½ North Korean, a part of my identity that stems from my father’s courageous journey moving to the South during the Korean War. This family history gives me a unique, first-hand perspective on resilience, migration, and the importance of understanding global history.

Professional Transition: Before finding my true calling in education, I served as a Sales Manager at Lotte Duty Free, a role that allowed me to master the art of communication and leadership in a fast-paced, international business environment.
