Welcome to Week 8

Welcome to Week 8 at Leongatha. It’s shaping up to be another busy and exciting week across the school.

We are continuing with NAPLAN testing this week, with our focus shifting from literacy into numeracy. Our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students have worked hard in preparation, and we wish them every success as they complete the numeracy assessments. We are proud of the effort and resilience they have shown throughout the testing period.

On Wednesday, our Grade 1 students will be heading to Coal Creek as part of their General Studies learning. This excursion will provide a wonderful opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning with real-world experiences. We wish them a fantastic day of exploration and discovery as they take part in this valuable out-of-seat learning experience.

📢 Important Update: Our Use of Facebook

We are making an adjustment to how we use our school Facebook page.

Moving forward, Facebook will be used primarily to:

• Communicate key school events
• Share important updates

• Provide reminders — similar to how we use Compass

   

Our school newsletter will now be the dedicated space for celebrating student learning, showcasing images of students engaged in classroom activities, camps, sporting events, and other school-based experiences.

This change has been carefully considered and is designed to protect our students’ digital footprint while still keeping families informed and connected. By being intentional about where and how we share images, we are prioritising student privacy and long-term digital safety.
