Junior School

你 好 (ni hao) Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 families,

After a long weekend, students in the Junior school have returned with great zest and enthusiasm to learn. Year 1 students are continuing to engage with local place and local people in the Guided Inquiry. Students are currently exploring important places in our neighbourhood, understanding of caring for what surrounds us.

Across the Junior school, students are enjoying text studies during English sessions. During these sessions, students are retelling and exploring themes, characters and setting from a variety of narrative texts.

Next week of course, we will begin our water safety program. Routines and times will vary across the Junior school so please check compass for all relevant information.

Please note the following for swimming days:

  • Students should wear their swimming gear to school under their school uniform.
  • Students will need to bring their school bag and a separate swimming bag.

In the swimming bag, please include:

  • Shoes to wear to the pool (crocs, flip flops, or other swimming-appropriate footwear)
  • Goggles
  • A towel
  • Underwear
  • A plastic bag for wet swimming gear

Students should wear their normal school shoes to school. Just before leaving for the pool, they will change into their swimming footwear to walk to the pool.

We are looking forward to an exciting couple of weeks and continue your support.

Melinda (Miss Emmett) & Ash (Foundation), Beth, Cassie & Suzie (Year 1), Shaye, Emma & Ella (Year 2)

Over the long weekend, Xavier and Patrick W (Year 1) along with Freddy L (Year 2) got the opportunity to play Auskick at the MCG during half time at the St Kilda vs Collingwood game. What an amazing experience to have played in front of such a big crowd!!
