What’s going on in the Leadership Centre?

This week, our Year 3 and 5 students have begun the first week of NAPLAN testing.

In the classroom, our Year 5/6 students are continuing to do their Guided Inquiry project. Working collaboratively in teams, students are researching and designing a sustainable town that supports a specific biome. They are exploring how communities can live more sustainably while considering environmental needs, resources and the impact humans have on different ecosystems. In 3/4, students spent time investigating resources and sustainability, practising their research skills. This is in preparation for their upcoming project, which will also be looking at sustainability in the home and community.

In Year 5/6, we are beginning to look at persuasive writing and how we use persuasive devices and language to convince the reader to agree.  With the use of techniques such as alliteration, repetition, facts, opinions, inclusive language and emotive language. Students spent time collaboratively brainstorming arguments for and against a range of different topics.

The Year 4's also enjoyed their first GALA day playing Ultimate Frisbee, Newcombe and Cricket. Well done to all of the students who participated and represented MPRPS.

Warm regards,

The Senior Team

Nick, Julia, Amanda, Gabby, Jonny, Miss Liu, Ros, Claire, Ciara, Jess and Sam
