Australian Mathematics Competition, Years 3 - 6 students

Dear Parents and Guardians of Years 3 - 6 students,
BNPS will be participating in the 2026 Australian Mathematics Competition.
The competition is not compulsory and is offered to all students in Years 3-6. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please decline the event.
“First run in 1978, the Australian Mathematics Competition is Australia’s longest running, largest and most well-known maths competition for school students.
Like all our competitions, the AMC contains unique problems designed each year by leading educators and academics to challenge and extend your students’ problem-solving skills.”
Please note, the test is rigorous, if you are interested in the competition but are unsure if it is suitable for your child, ask your child’s class teacher for guidance.
Key Dates/Information:
- July 31st is the last day to sign up and pay for the competition.
- Competition bracket is between 4th to 6th August 2026
- Cost is $9.50/ student.
- The test has 30 questions and a 60-minute time limit.
