Book Week 2026: A Symphony of Stories 🎶
Get ready to strike a chord! This year, we are celebrating Children’s Book Week from 22 – 28 August, and the theme is "Symphony of Stories."
This year’s theme celebrates the harmony and diversity found within books, featuring incredible artwork by award-winning illustrator Briony Stewart. From whimsical animals to magical explorers, the "Symphony" brings together a wild collection of characters that show how every story adds its own unique note to the world.
As has become our tradition in recent years, the school will celebrate this amazing week by holding our annual Book Parade. This year, we are asking students and families to think of colourful or musical characters, such as Pippi Longstocking or Hatsune Miku. As part of the costume, we are asking students and families to march with album covers rather than books. These album covers might feature songs from TV shows or movies based on the books, or simply music that you associate with that character.
So, start thinking and getting creative, Open Day is not far away!

We encourage parents and students to visit the official CBCA website to meet this year's characters, explore the shortlisted books, and find inspiration for their own reading journeys.
