Each year, our Year 6 students run a Bake Sale to raise funds for their Year 6 Farewell and a special school gift. This year’s Bake Sale is being held across Weeks 10 and 11 of Term 2, from Friday, 26 June to Wednesday, 1 July.
The first Bake Sale took place today, with the Solar and Eclipse pods hosting, and it was a fantastic success!
Students are warmly invited to come along and purchase delicious baked goods during recess and lunch each day next week. There will be a wide variety of treats available, including cupcakes, muffins, slices, cakes, doughnuts, cookies, brownies, and biscuits.
We sincerely thank the school community for your ongoing support in continuing this wonderful tradition. Enjoy the Bake Sale!

We're proud to announce that two of our CPS students recently showcased their talents in the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition. Arbabh represented Stage 2 and, although his speech was not selected as the winner, it received special recognition as one of two highly commended memorable speeches, praised for its originality and impact.
Mason, representing Stage 3, delivered an exceptional speech that captured the audience and judges, earning him first place in the competition. His thoughtful message and confident delivery highlighted his deep understanding of multicultural perspectives and made us all proud. Both students did an outstanding job representing our school with passion and creativity. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

We recently hosted Anzac Park Public School for two exciting debates here at Chatswood Public School.
Our Year 6 team, the Chatswood Librarians, went head-to-head with Anzac Park’s Biscuits on the topic: “That schools should teach Year 5 and 6 students how to use AI websites and programs.” Representing the negative, our Year 6s delivered a strong argument and emerged victorious!
Meanwhile, our Year 5 team, the Chatswood Monitors, debated against the Anzac Brumbies on the topic: “That primary students should give Year 6 students a weekly quiz about news and current affairs.” As the affirmative side, our Year 5s gave it their all, but this time the Anzac Brumbies took the win.
This means our Year 6s now have two wins under their belt, while the Year 5s are still chasing their first victory. But don’t count them out yet, our final round of the season will see Year 6 take on Year 5 in a debate about sport and fitness. Stay tuned!

We would like to remind you of the importance of regular school attendance for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. It is crucial for students to be present at school every day to ensure they do not miss out on valuable learning experiences.
However, we understand that there may be occasions when your child needs to be absent. Justified reasons for absence include:
Absences for these reasons will be marked as "Leave (L)" or "Sick (S)" as appropriate. Other reasons, such as family holidays or visiting relatives, will be marked as "Explained – Unjustified (A)".
Please be aware that students may miss significant learning while away from school. Therefore, we strongly encourage families to plan holidays or travel during school vacation periods.
Holidays taken by students outside of school vacation periods will now be included as absences. A Certificate of Extended Leave can no longer be granted for this purpose.
If you are applying for a planned absence which will exceed 5 days, parents must complete the "Application for Extended Leave Form". This form can be requested by emailing the school your child's name and class.
If the planned absence is accepted, a Certificate of Extended Leave will be issued, and the absence will be marked as “Leave (L)”. If the planned absence is not accepted, the leave will be marked as "Explained – Unjustified(A)" and no Certificate of Extended Leave will be issued.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring your child’s consistent attendance and academic success.

This Term we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported. Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey at
