Stage 3 Excursion

Last Wednesday stage 3 went on a HSIE excursion to Tenterfield.
When Stage 3 went to the Tenterfield Centenary Cottage Museum on Wednesday the 17th of June they learnt about how people in Australia lived in the 1870’s. They discovered what people back then: did daily chores that are now automated such as washing clothes, ironing and keeping things cold without electricity. Stage 3 thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and had a great time being taught how different the world was and how everything worked back then.
After this, the Stage 3 students went to the Tenterfield Railway Museum, learning about the history of railways and trains in Tenterfield. When Stage 3 arrived we were given a sheet with pictures on it to find and were led in 2 groups and learnt what each cart was for, what they looked like and learnt facts about trains. After we were done we were given a pencil and a rubber and a bag with information sheets telling you about the German settlement in Tenterfield, Sir Henry Parkes, and a map of the buildings in Tenterfield.
Overall, Stage 3 had an excellent day learning about a variety of things. We want to give a special thanks to Andrew for driving the bus to our location and to the teachers for setting us up for this fun excursion!
