This term we have been learning about and writing narratives. Each week we have focused on one part of the structure of a narrative and this week it was time to publish our stories! In Mathematics in 3/4EJ we have been learning about multiplication and arrays. We’ve discovered that arrays are all around us!

On Tuesday 31 March we were lucky enough to hold the OLA House Cross Country at Kingston Heath Reserve. The children in Grades 3-6 had a great time and were very fortunate to have the sun shining and many parents and spectators cheering the children on. Congratulations to all children who participated and a special mention to the children who finished top 10 overall for their age group:

The team to represent OLA at District Cross Country on Tuesday 5 May will be announced early in Term 2. Unfortunately finishing top 10 does not guarantee entry into the District event, but please know how proud we are of all who participated and gained a place.
Our Prep students loved celebrating Harmony Week by welcoming their parents into the classroom to share the beautiful traditions and stories of their cultures. Seeing our community come together to share their heritage reminded us all that our differences are what make our school so vibrant!

As you know, we’ve introduced a new Spanish program at school this year, and it’s already been wonderful to see how enthusiastic the students are during lessons.
To encourage student engagement, we’ve subscribed to an excellent website that we use in class. It also offers students the opportunity to access its fantastic resources at home, including songs, stories, games, and printables.
If your child would like to spend more time learning Spanish, they can simply visit the website, log in using the username and password (or scan the QR code), and continue exploring and enjoying the language.

We celebrate achievements at OLA every day in the classroom. Outstanding achievement is celebrated at every assembly in the front of the school. Congratulations to all the students who received an award last week.
