News from PE with Mr Halsall
In Term 2, our Physical Education program will continue to support students in developing their fundamental movement skills and confidence in movement. Students in Foundation to Year 2 will engage in a variety of fun, active games and circuits that focus on building skills such as catching, striking with two hands, and performing both overarm and underarm throws. These experiences help to develop coordination, balance, and agility in an enjoyable and supportive setting. Students in Years 3–6 will focus on improving their performance across a range of Athletics events, including High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Sprints, Hurdles, Discus, and Shot Put. They will also take part in different sports and games designed to enhance their game awareness, resilience, and ability to demonstrate positive sportsmanship.
News from Art with Mrs Page
In Term 1, students from Years 1–6 explored sculpture and form, creating a wonderful range of imaginative and expressive artworks. Before these creations are sent home, they will be proudly displayed in the Learning Hubs throughout Term 2.
Term 2 will begin with an exciting workshop led by professional visual artist Dan Elborne. During this session, students will create an image to contribute to the neighbouring Springleaf Avenue public artwork, which is due for completion later this year.
From there, students will continue to build their artistic skills across a range of focus areas, including: landscape art (years 5-6), printmaking (years 1-4) and collage (Foundation).

- Year 1 students will dive into the importance of recycling and how it helps protect our planet.
- Year 2 students will uncover the mystery of day and night, exploring the relationship between the Sun, Earth and Moon.
- Year 3 students will dig deep into the secrets of rocks and soil, uncovering the earth's hidden treasures.
- Year 4 students will investigate the wonders of the water cycle, tracing how water travels through our world.
- Year 5 students will blast off into the solar system. They will develop their understanding of the importance of the Earth’s orbit around the Sun and learn about the planets in our solar system.
- Year 6 students will discover how Earth loves to shake, crack, flood and erupt. They will become problem‑solving legends by modelling these natural hazards and figuring out smart human actions to prevent our planet from causing too much chaos.
News from Wellbeing with Mrs Smith
This term students from Foundation to Grade 6 will be exploring three important Wellbeing topics as part of the Respectful Relationships curriculum. Through Help Seeking, students will learn that asking for support is a sign of strength and will build confidence in reaching out to trusted adults and peers when they need it. Through Emotional Literacy, students will develop the language and awareness to identify, understand, and express their feelings in healthy ways.
Finally, through Positive Coping, students will explore a toolkit of strategies to manage life's challenges, from mindfulness and movement to creative expression and connection. These skills are not just for the classroom, they are life skills that support children to thrive at school, at home, and in their communities.
As part of Harmony Week in Term 1, all students decorated their own hand which has been made into a display on the Wellbeing classroom window closest to Learning Hub 1. Please come and have a look to see if you can find your child's hand.
