Shine the Light

Foundation

Thank you to our Foundation parents who came to support their child in creating a poster that documented their growth and development. The students have thoroughly enjoyed sharing their creations with the class and reflecting on their physical changes and important milestones. The posters turned out to be truly spectacular, and it was wonderful to see the pride each student took in presenting their learning.

Year 1 White

In 1 White, the students finished their health unit where they learnt the importance of Sun Safety. They learned about the six superpowers to keep safe in the sun and then designed their own posters. They also took videos of themselves presenting their posters so they could spread the message of sun safety to others.

Year 2

The Year 2 students are exploring a range of strategies to help them return to the green zone when they’re feeling dysregulated. These include meditation with a body scan, intentional breathing, creating a glitter jar, and using a fidget tool. They have added some of these strategies to their emotional toolbox.

Year 4 Blue

To explore the meaning of Easter, students in 4B meaningfully revisited the concepts of Holy Week. They used coloured paper to symbolise the rising sun and the concept of hope. They then designed a silhouette of three crosses on a hill using black paper, making the image stand out against the colourful background. The activity concluded with the writing of the reflection, “Jesus has risen.”

Year 5 Blue

In English we read about The Sour Grape. Sometimes we can all be sour but we try to shine the light by being positive and happy in what we do. This teaches us that life can be much more exciting if we can just move on and say "I forgive you."

Year 6 White

In Year 6, we have been learning about different prayer types.  This activity had us review different types of prayers: blessings, intercessions and petitions for example, to see if we could categorise them correctly.
