How was your Eucharist practice on Thursday?

Mekhi-It was great.  I liked` the bread.

Allegra-It was easy.

Jack - It was good because I got to eat the bread.

Chloe - Good because we got to see what's going to happen on the day.

How prepared are you to receive Eucharist and explain your answer?

Jack - 50/50 because there are still things I need to learn.

Chloe - I'm pretty prepared because we had a few rehearsals and I feel confident.

Mekhi - I think I’m ready to receive my Eucharist because I think I'm mature.

Allegra - I think I’m really prepared because we have practiced.

ANZAC Day Liturgy

Summary: The Liturgy started a small mishap as the projector was not workin, making the Liturgy harder for everyone to know what's going on. The readers were very respectful to the occasion and we were all watching on and thinking of the soldiers that lost their lives and of those who returned.  Overall we think the Anzac liturgy was a good finish of the day as it let us show respect to those who have fought for our country.

Saturday was ANZAC Day, and Mrs Sullivan, Mrs Marziano, Mrs Thredgold and some students participated in the Commemorative ANZAC Day march at Mentone RSL. Jye and Sarah represented the school and their families by carrying up a wreath.

How did you feel about carrying the ANZAC wreath?

Jye: I felt proud and honoured to be able to be involved in such an important day. It especially meant something to me because my great-grandfather served in the war.

How did you feel when you were chosen to carry the wreath?

Jye: I felt happy and proud that I was chosen and I got the chance to do a once in a lifetime thing.

How did you feel about carrying the ANZAC wreath?

Sarah: I felt pride in myself for being involved in such an important day.

How did you feel when you were chosen to carry the wreath?

Sarah: Happy because my grandfather was in the war.

Junior Mayor

How  do you feel about Junior Mayor?

Asher: I am excited and nervous.

Emerson: I feel great but I'm nervous.

How do you think you are going to go at Junior Mayor?

Asher: I think we will be great and I am excited.

Torin: I think that we will go well and I think that I will do well.

What have you been doing for the past couple of weeks in the lead up?

Alek: Thinking of ideas.

Asher: We've been creating signs and creating our scripts.

Emerson: Making signs for ‘What can the council do to help youth be more involved in the community’.

Torin: We have been finalising the script and preparing our props.

How does the program work?

Emerson: We go and represent our school at Kingston Council in Mentone.

Torin: The council chooses a question and then every school in Kingston Council chooses 4 students to represent them and then the students choose to prepare a script and choose a main speaker. Every school is allowed as many props as they want except for electronics. After every school has presented the schools vote and the team with the most votes wins and the schools main speaker becomes Junior Mayor.
